Resumen:
Saying that someone is smarter than another, or to decide who is smart, are aspects of repetitive discussions, not only by specialists, by  laymen, because of the imprecision of finding a definition that includes the diversity of qualities that commonly define intelligence or being smart. The fact that we have different cognitive capabilities demands us to consider this diversity when making educational proposals, in order to help students develop their full cognitive potential by recognizing these differences. The present study analyzes the intellectual profile of secondary school students and the contexts that act as promoters of several cognitive capabilities. This investigation is divided into two stages. The first phase pretends to show the diversity of intelligences that coexists in a particular group of high school students and the students´s specific talents. The second stage has the purpose of revealing which contexts allow the development and expression of the students´s potentialities talents. The results indicate that each student exhibit a unique intellectual profile.  Furthermore, it was found that some extracurricular contexts and environments can act as catalysts for the development of cognitive, artistic and social abilities.
