Epidermal characteristics in Lotus corniculatus L. (Fabaceae: Loteae)

The epidermal characteristics of specimens of Lotus corniculatus L. with different origins were analyzed using a light microscope. Anticlinal cell wall patterns, epidermal cell dimensions and number per field, stomata size and number per field and stomatal index were examined. Results show that there are not significant differences, except to L. corniculatus cv. "G" from Hungary which presents the biggest epidermal cell and stomata dimensions, and the highest stomatal index value
