Resumen:
In this article, I undertake a narrative approach of the experiences and meanings of the past which does not need to resort to «objectivist» against «relativist» disputes, a commonplace among many collective memory researchers in Argentina. On the contrary, from a sociological perspective, it is possible to understand the stories on the past as aspects of a social reality that produces them and is constituted by these at the same time. I consider more fruitful to combine some anthropological advances about the social and cultural making of stories of the past with Mikhail Bakhtin’s theory. Finally, I will apply this perspective to analyze two narrative models related to the construction of the psychiatric and psychoanalytic traditions in Argentina during the second half of 20th century.
