I am one of the founders and driving-forces of the Red Conceptualismos del Sur (Southern Conceptualisms Network), an international platform for collective work, thinking and stance-taking. We use our name in a tactical sense. We are not interested in opposing a peripheral conceptualism to mainstream practices. Rather, we strive for decentering the canonical narratives about conceptualism, which we consider, not as a specific and limited artistic trend, but as a different way of practicing art altogether, and of understanding its role in society. And we'd even like to go beyond the self-imposed boundaries implicit in our name, since we are interested in processes inscribed in times and genealogies different from those usually associated with what is typically called conceptualism.
