Resumen:
Various preconcentration systems using different packed columns have been proposed for the determination of metal traces in the search of increasing the sensitivity of commonly used atomic detectors. Examples of this are electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). These systems allow to develop a t"ast and simple automation. making it possible to determine traccs in a large numbcr of samples. which increases the chemica! analysis efficiency. In order to show the advantages of using these methods coupled to conventional ICP-AES detectors, a continuous flow  preconcentration system was developed using XAD Amberlite resins. Determination of Pb, ~d and V was carried out in different types of samples with prcvious complexation with the reagent 2-(S-Bromo-2-pyridylazo)-S-diethylaminophenol (S-Br-PADAP) and subsequent retention on the XAD rcsin. The enrichment factors (EF) obtained for these analytes were 100, 60 and ISO, respectively.
