The tectonic plates are moved relative to each other at di erent speeds. Sincethey are moving on the nite surface of the Earth, the plates interact witheach other along its boundaries causing intense deformation in the crust andlithosphere of the Earth, which has led to the formation of large mountainranges and large systems associated with these faults. The frictional contactbetween the edges of the plates is responsible for most of the earthquakes.The current measurement of the speed of tectonic plates is made usingprecise GPS measurements.The JPL has GPS data from DS-3 Malargue facilities since June 2012until the day that this report was written. The data is stored in an FTPserver.  These data will be copied and stored in a database hosted on one of theservers of ITeDA Mendoza
