Resumen:
A method to reconstruct the lateral distribution function of muons was developed during the design of AMIGA. The design includes 3 muon counters buried at ∼ 2.5 m nearby each surface detector of the 750 m Infill array as one of the AMIGA detectors. Each muon counter has a sensitive surface area of 10 m2 and is divided in 64 segments of the same size, so 30 m2 are covered at each position of the surface detector by a total of n = 192 segments. The AMIGA detector has a dead time of 25 ns, muons arriving at the same segment closer are not resolved. In this note we present a new reconstruction that extends the working range at each AMIGA position from 174 to 719 muons.
