Resumen:
The curvature of the shower front Rc is a parameter that can be measured when reconstructing surface detector events with large multiplicity (at present it is fitted for events with 5 or more triggered stations). It is a useful parameter since it is expected to be correlated with thedepth of the first interaction of the primary and with the depth of the maximum development of the shower Xmax. It should then be sensitive to some extent to the composition of the primary cosmic ray that generated the shower. It has indeed been already employed, together with the rise-time of the FADC traces, in searches of photon initiated showers. We want here to discuss some issues that afect its proper determination and that can be taken into account to obtain it with more precision and hence to achieve a cleaner composition discrimination.
