Resumen:
Nowadays large amounts of combustion gases are being emitted into the atmosphere, without any type of treatment. The CO2 present in these emissions has gained importance in recent decades due to its contribution to global warming by greenhouse effect. Several capture technologies have been proposed, among which adsorption has attracted a lot of attention, mainly due to the fact that it is a technique that requires the use of few steps and equipment, easy operation, low cost and does not generate residues. In this contribution, the preliminary study of the capture of CO2 in the materials: S300 (mesostructured silica type SBA-15, with a rapid calcination process at lower time and temperature of treatment) and S300-amin (S300 with incorporation of aminopropyl groups), is carried out. The results indicate that the surface modification of the material notably improves the CO2 adsorption capacity, reaching an increase of 25% at 298K and 1atm; and an increase of 2.2 time more at low pressure (0.15 atm). In addition, the post-synthesis anchoring method for SBA-15 functionalization with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane is presented and different characterization techniques (XRD, TG, FTIR,adsorption of N2 and water vapor) were used to study the main characteristics of the materials used.
