Resumen:
Anatase?brookite composite nano-crystals have successfully been synthesized at 300 y500°C by means of a low hydrolysis technique (LH) and then studied in the for photocatalyticdegradation of tartrazine. The photocatalytic activity of these samples was greater than anatase singlephasesamples, with comparable crystal size and surface area. Studies of photocatalytic degradation oftartrazine are carried out in a batch stirred reactor built in quartz laboratory scale, using the nano-crystalsas catalysts photoactived with ultraviolet light. Experimental design is performed using as independentvariables or factors: catalyst concentration, catalyst calcinations temperature and catalyst calcination rate,to establish the best conditions of the degradation process. The experimental data were fitted with the firstorder Langmuir-Hinshelwood model.
