The effect of carbón content, between 0.1 and 0.5% by weight, on the structure and the mechanical properties of high-manganese (3wt%) dual-phase steels was examined. The mechanical résistance increases with the increase of carbón concentration and it is possible to achieve, by a simple air cooling from 700~750°C, an ultimate tensile strength higher than 1,200~ 1,400 MPa for high carbón (0.2~0.5%) containing steels whilst still retaining a good ductility
