Resumen:
We study the role of non-described genes in stemness and tumorigenesis regulation in glioblastoma (GBM). Being characterized as one of the most heterogeneous tumor stem-like cells associated cancer type, GBM usually develops therapy resistance and disease relapse. Here we study KANSL2, a non characterized member of the Non-Specific Lethal (NSL) chromatin-modifying complex. Although KANSL2 function is currently unknown, NSL-complex contributes to epigenetic programming in embryonic stem cells (1), is upregulated in the stem cell subpopulation of GBM tumors and is capable of reciprocal regulation with OCT4 and NANOG, master genes of pluripotency (2).
