We show that the notion of complexity, using appropriate information-theory tools and EEG data, provides one with valuable insights into the dynamics of neural activity. In particular, in the case of secondary generalized tonic-clonic epileptic seizures, the epileptic focus triggers a self-organized brain state characterized by both order and maximal complexity.both order and maximal complexity.
