Resumen:
Study of hydrothermal phyllosilicates from La Poma mine, Central Puna (Salta province). La Poma mine is located in the NE rim of the Cerro Aguas Calientes collapse caldera (17.5 to 10.8 Ma), in the geologic province of Puna, Salta- Argentina. It is hosted in Verde Ignimbrite (17.3 Ma) in form of veins of Pb-Ag-Zn. Our study comprises optical microscope, DRX and SEM-EDS analysis. The obtained results let define four hydrothermal alteration zones, characterized by different clay mineral assemblages. The association identified correspond to: Silicic: quartz + chlorite + illite and kaolinite; phyllic: illite + smectite + illite/smectite mixed-layers + chlorite; argillic: kaolinite + smectite + illite/smectite mixed layers and scarce illite-chlorite; propylitic: chlorite/smectite + chlorite + illite/smectite mixed-layers + smectite and kaolinite.
