Resumen:
We present in this work the use of free softwarelibraries (python) for satellite images processing and datavectorization. In particular, images from the GOES-16 satelliteand the GPM precipitation mission are used as a sourceof satellite data. As a useful example, statistics of severemeteorological events and precipitation during the month ofJanuary of 2018 and 2019 in Argentina are made in differentvector units. Operational versions of these examples are in theprocess of implementation.
