?We present in this work the use of free software libraries (python) for satellite images processing and data vectorization. In particular, images from the GOES-16 satellite and the GPM precipitation mission are used as a source of satellite data. As a useful example, statistics of severe meteorological events and precipitation during the month of January of 2018 and 2019 in Argentina are made in different vector units. Operational versions of these examples are in the process of implementation.
