In order to overcome the fact that pointrecords of rainfall from raingauges do not provide adequate space distributionsin general, a procedure is proposed to include measurements from the firstweather Doppler radar available in Córdoba, RMA1, with simultaneouspolarización diversity.The above mentioned procedure consistsin the hydrological calibration of this radar by the integration of itsobservations to the precipitation measurements taken at ground level on March8th, 2016 from 01:30 UTC to 04:20 UTC from a storm occurred over the centralarea of the province of Córdoba. Our proposed working methodology is based onthe definition of nine radar binsaround each automatic weather station at thehight where RMA1 registered its reflectivity factor measurements during thewhole storm.The best correlation between thereflectivity factor from each bin and the precipitation measured at ground wasdetermined corresponding to the bin releasing the precipitation registeredlater by the raingauge. The time delay between these two events was evaluatedand it was found to be in good agreement with the horizontal prevailing windand the storm motion.This preliminary procedure allows thecalibration for each automatic weather station within the area swept by RMA1 forevents of any time length. Finally, the characteristic parameters of thePrecipitation rate ? reflectivity factor were determined through out a fittingcurve to the experimental data.
