Resumen:
A series of relatively novel techniques is presented to study surf-zone hydrodynamics by means of digital processing of video images recording of the sea surface near the coast. Image analysis may be used to estimate spacial and temporal characteristics of wave fields, surface circulation, mixing and morphodynamics in the surf zone.
