Resumen:
Theobjective of this article is the presentation of the PORT 21 System forforecasting waves and Operational Oceanography (OO), of application in theSouth American Region. First, the models used are explained, and the methodologyadopted for their integration in PORT 21 is shown to facilitate theunderstanding of the system. Then, the cases studied to validate and calibratethe system are described; finally, the results so far obtained are summarized.A review of the input data required by the system is presented, describing thedifferent models and sources of wind and wave data, some of which have beenselected for routine use of the system. In the conclusions, a critical analysisis developed regarding the objectives achieved to date, and the tasks to becarried out in the future are described.
