Silos are largely used for grains handling andstorage.A correct estimation of the rate of discharge of asilo is crucial for optimal design and performance.CFD techniques come as non-expensive andnon-intrusive tools for exploration and study ofthe phenomena.This work seeks to explore the capabilities andlimitations of a continuum model approach basedon the well-known μ(I)-rheology forflat-bottomed silo discharge.
