Resumen:
The index mostly used to measure stellar activity is the one combining Ca II H and K line fluxes. These lines, which are formed in the stellar chromosphere, are not particularly adequate to study cool stars, which are intrinsically faint and red. In this work we used observations of 69 southern stars to study different indexes of activity. We found that an index built from Hα can be used to study activity through the whole spectral range from F to M stars. We also built indexes from the Na D lines and the Ca I 4227 Å line, and found that, for stars with (B-V) < 1.15, these indexes are good color indicators, and only for stars with (B-V) > 1.15 these indexes correlate with activity.
