Resumen:
Many late-type stars present activity cycles similar to the 11-yearsolar cycle. However, very little is known about variability andstellar activity in cooler stars (K and M). In 1999, the HK Project wasborn. Under the aim extend the study of stellar activity on latedwarfs, we observe systematically a set of late-type stars with REOSCspectrograph mounted on the 2.15 m telescope of the ComplejoAstronómico El Leoncito (CASLEO, San Juan). In the present work,we present the first long-term study of the chromospheric activity forAU Microscopii (GJ 803), which is a bright M1 V variable star thatbelongs to the Pictoris association. For this young star of 25 Myrwith a 4.85-day rotation period we found an activity cycle of 5 years.
