Developing quality education through imaginative understanding using literature

This session describes a literature workshop that introduced an intercultural citizenship and human rights perspective within a regular language course for future teachers and/or translators of English at a local university in 2016. Designed as a task and theme based project and case study, findings show that students engaged in critical imaginative understanding, an essential capacity in the development of democratic citizenship and the provision of quality education in higher education.
