(Organizadora, coordinadora y moderadora de este panel: Melina Porto) The aim of this presentation is to share different experiences on academic publishing. AJAL authors and reviewers will describe their roles and experiences in the journal with the intention of encouraging publishing among in- service teachers. On the one hand, authors will reflect on what it means to be an author when writing for scholarly publication. They will also describe the evaluation process of their contributions in AJAL in relation to the review process. They will reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of the review process from their own positioning, perspectives and experiences. In addition, authors will offer advice for prospective writers. On the other hand, reviewers will describe their expectations when they read a submission and they will reflect upon questions such as: what makes an article publishable, what can reviewers do in order to help authors? They will share their main concerns about the submissions received and will offer some guidelines that can be useful for authors. Simultaneously and incidentally, this presentation might be of use to AJAL editors who might benefit from the insider perspectives of authors and reviewers in order to improve AJAL's review process. As this presentation takes the form of a Discussion Group, it is expected that there will be a fruitful exchange of opinions and queries among reviewers, authors and audience. It is intended to contribute to FAAPI´s current strategic actions to encourage academic publishing among teachers in Argentina.
