By drawing from the brutal murder of a rank and file activist and left militant Mariano Ferreyra (member of Partido Obrero and Federación Universitaria Buenos Aires) by rail union members this article will unravel the multiple connections of violence and control over formal and informal workers in the actual constitution of trade unions' system in Argentina. Building from this case we will analyze the impact of this type of unionism on current working class struggles and self-activity.
