Resumen:
Scoliolegnia hypogina sp. nov. is described on dead unidentified species of cOllembola in a freshwater habitat, located at Iguazú National Park, in Misiones province, Argentina. The species is illustrated and compared with other species of the genus . Distinguishing characteristics of S. hypogina are the production of denselly papillate oogonia , hypoginous antheridial cells and the absence of antheridial branches on the majority of the oogonia , but when present , they are monoclinous , diclinous or androgynous; oospores are distinctive , 1-3 (-6) per oogonium.
