The social role of Technical Secondary Education in Argentina: between social, political and economical demands

This presentation seeks to contribute to the discussions about new models, functions and formats of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the context of a developing country, Argentina. In doing so, we seek to join to some debates in sociology of education like: The shaping of educational systems and their tensions related to social inclusion and selection of students Educational inequalities concerning quality and educational tracks. The inequalities in students socio-economical and cultural backgrounds and their impact in educational pathways are also discussed.
