Resumen:
Activity of Nardophyllum armatum (Wedd.) Reiche (Asteraceae) alcoholic extracts from two different geographical areas of the Argentinian Puna against phytopathogenic microorganisms”. Lilloa 48 (1). The aim of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial and antifungal capacity of Nardophyllum armatum (Wedd.) Reiche (Asteraceae) extractsfrom different geographical areas of the Argentinian Puna against pathogenic microorganismsof interesting in the agricultural industry. Both extracts showed antifungal activityagainst Penicillium digitatum and Geotrichum candidum by agar macrodilution assays. At 96h of incubation, the radial growth inhibition of G. candidum was 40 and 50% with 400 ìgGAE.ml-1 of LIL607928 and IEV91 extracts, respectively. At the same incubation time, theradial growth inhibition of P. digitatum was 60 and 20% with 1000 ìg GAE.ml-1 ofLIL607928 and IEV91 extracts, respectively. The minimum inhibitory concentration of the plantextracts against the tested pathogenic bacteria (Erwinia carotovora, Agrobacteriumtumefasciens, Xanthomonas campestris, Pseudomonas syringae) was 400 ìg GAE.ml-1.The N. armatum extracts showed higher growth inhibitory effect against bacterial phytopathogensthan fungi phytopathogens. The results obtained shown the potential use of N. armatumextracts as a natural, non conventional method and environmentally acceptable for crop protectionagainst diseases caused by microorganisms.
