Resumen:
In cells performing photosynthesis glyceratdehyde-3-phosphate (Ga3P) and dihydroxyacetone-phosphate are key intermediates in the metabolism of carbohydrates. Thesetriose phosphates are involved in the glycolytic and gluconeogenic routes and are also thefirst metabolites of the photosynthetic carbon assimilation pathway, from which finalproducts of photosynthesis such as starch and sucrose are formed. 1-3 It is therefore ofinterest to consider the three Ga3P dehydrogenases found in photosynthetic cells andwhich are involved in different metabolic routes. 4 The kinetic properties of thesedehydrogenases determine that the pathways followed by triose phosphates in photosyntheticorganisms occur with distinct energetic characteristics.
