Resumen:
This work describes a constitutive model for reinforced concrete with rebars oriented in one or two orthogonal directions. The material is considered as a matrix-fiber composite material constituted by long fibers (steel rebars) embedded into a concrete matrix. Then, material failure for the resulting composite material is modeled in the Continuum-Strong Discontinuity Approach (CSDA) setting. Both the tensile and the shear contributions of the reinforcement are accounted for, this allowing a proper representation of the bond-slip and dowel effects. The model performance is assessed through a series of classical tension and shear tests.
