He is the Director of the National Patagonian Center forResearch (CENPAT) and the Director of the Patagonian Institute of Human and SocialSciences. He is also the former President of the Argentinian Association of BiologicalAnthropology (2009-2011) and the current Vice-President of the Latin American Association ofBiological Anthropology. He studies population genetics of both extinct and extant humangroups, hominid craniofacial variation and evolution, America’s settlement, admixed humanpopulations, hunter-gatherer populations, morphological integration, geometric morphometrics,and quantitative genetics. His publications are focused on the micro evolutionary events thattook place during the settlement of the New World. More recently, he has turned his focus onmodern, admixed populations from Latin America. He holds numerous collaborations withAmerican, European, and Latin American colleagues.About CONICETThe National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) is the main organization incharge of the promotion of Science and Technology in Argentina. The principal objective ofthis agency is to boost and implement scientific and technical activities in the country and in alldifferent fields of knowledge.
