Resumen:
The copolymers based on (1,3,5,7)-tetramethyl-(1,3,5,7)-tetra vinyl(cyclotetrasiloxane) monomer (V4) are a particular class of siloxane polymers that have been used to stabilize metallic nanoparticles (Rickerby et al., 2006). In addition, they have potential applications in biomedicine, which can be improved with radiation (Zhu et al, 2006). As it is reported in the literature, the ring opening anionic polymerization (ROP) of V4 needs an optimum promoter of reaction (Cryptands, DMSO or THF) (Jian Ming Yu et al, 1994), and a particular initiator as trymehtylsilylmethyllithium (TMSML) is usually used. This work is focused on the synthesis of model copolymers between V4 and hexamethyl(ciclotrisiloxane) (D3) by using high-vacuum anionic polymerization techniques, and sec-BuLi as initiator. This initiator was chosen instead of commercial TMSML solutions since sec-BuLi solutions can be easily prepared in the laboratory. Better experimental conditions to obtain homo and copolymers of V4 were also explored.
