Resumen:
Bonefilling materials made from hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2),(HA) are used for treating bone deficiencies causedby disease or injury. This material promotes the reproduction of new bone byinjection into bone defects. Even though HA has been utilized as a bone-fillingmaterial, it requires a long time to be replaced with host bone afterimplantation. Composite materials based on HA and hydro-gels would be suitableto fill large bone defects and would be easily absorbed by the patient?s body.Furthermore these materials could be used for drug carrier [1]. The aimof this work is to compare the effect of Ca2+ concentration in HAsuspensions and CaCl2 solutions in the gelation and bioactivity ofalginate films; towards its future application in biodegradable and bioadhesivewound dressing applied to bone injury or defects.
