Many parameters regarding the synthesis of polymers affect their post-reactor irradiationprocess. In this work, an analysis of the effect of the type and the positionof unsaturations in the molecular structure of cross-linkable polymers isperformed. For such purpose, two solid semi-crystalline metallocenic ethylene1-olefin copolymers (mEOC, which a low concentration of unsaturations from thesynthesis), and their hydrogenated samples were irradiated by using 60Cogamma rays. A similar test was performed with liquid poly(dimethylsiloxane)(PDMS) homo and copolymers containing different location and concentration of vinyl groups, which were structurallytailored through anionic polymerization. The effect of the position of theunsaturations in the irradiation process of both polymers is discussed.
