Resumen:
In this study magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) composed of magnetite (Fe3O4, MAG) modified with Gum Arabic (GA) have been prepared using a simple, non-time consuming and low-cost method. Its potential as nanocarrier for target and release of a non- steroidal antinflammatory drug (Diclofenac) has been evaluated. The incorporation of the drug has been performed by simple adsorption without the use of any coupling agent. The incorporation levels were very satisfactory, reaching a maximum of about 84% expressed as Loading Eficiency(%) at 8hs. of incubation of raw carriers in the presence of a DIC solution. < The properties of raw nanocarriers as well as the DIC loaded ones have been determined. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of the polymeric moieties and the incorporation of the drug though the observation of the typical bands of functional groups of both substrates. Results from hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) and z potential also demonstrate the effective incorporation of the drug to the nanocarriers since great changes were registered mainly in the case of Dh comparing valued of loaded and unloaded MNPs. In all cases the obtained sizes fit well with the requirements for in vivo assays. Regarding to the z data, possible DIC-MNPs interactions could be inferred. The stability of the loaded MNPs was verified by measuring the Dh as a function of the time finding almost constant values along 260hs. of storage in distilled water without any extra stabilizer.
