Resumen:
Micro/nanoemulsions are potential drug carrier systems for oral, topical, and parenteral administration. They offer the advantage of spontaneous formation, ease of manufacturing and scale-up, thermodynamic stability, and improved drug solubilization and bioavailability In the present work it has been designed and characterized an o/w microemulsion consisting of an internal phase (geraniol), non-ionic surfactants (Cremophor EL, Tween 80, Brij 35) and a continuous phase (distilled water, saline solution). This system due to its composition and properties features would have potential effect enhancer and could be used as dermal and ocular drug delivery systems.
