The Signal Processing for Communications Laboratory is a facility within the School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires devoted to basic research in Communications. During this talk, we will present the activities of the laboratory and some collaboration projects with other institutions. The main areas of interest are multicarrier communications systems, block-based communications and space-time coding. We have recently tested some of strategies for multicarrier transceivers on a power line communications design (PLC). In particular, encouraging results on PLC systems subject to narrow band interference will be presented in the talk. Finally, a capacity approaching block-based transceivers with reduced redundancy will also be presented.
