Resumen:
This perspective has a simple message: Covalent synthesis under thermodynamic control can be a powerful tool for preparing mechanically interlocked structures and specific macrocycles in high yield and at the same time serve as an engine for the creation of dynamic combinatorial libraries (DCLs), which are responsive to their environment. Here we will highlight some examples that illustrate the potential of thermodynamically controlled covalent chemistry and we will point out some exciting directions for the future.
