Working with PVDF: (January to June) 1)A review of Energy Harvesting and a study of different applications of PVDF thin films (at INESC UOSE Lab). The trainee will study the possibility of incorporating and adapting this technology in the context of South America and in particular Argentina. 2)In the second part the activity of the trainee at INESC UOSE will focus in two aspects: The first is an experimental research in a laboratory for characterization of electrical impedance as a function of frequency (up to 1 GHz) of piezoelectric PVDF using new measurement techniques. These measurements will be made using the LabView software to acquire the different output signals of HP impedance-meter. Various publications are envisaged on this work (50%). Working with Solar Cells: (March to June) 1)Growing of the active layers of a concentrator solar cell by using a RF-magnetron sputtering deposition system 2)Preparation of the layers, optical and electrical characterization.
