Resumen:
The anatomy of the underground branching systems in Cyperus corymbosus Rottb. var. subnodosus (Nees et Meyen) Kük. was examined. The anatomy of the rhizome and tuber of C. corymbosus var. subnodosus is described. A comparative analysis of the variations observed in different development stages was also performed. The anatomical characteristics of the rhizome and tubers are associated with the typically underground shoot system, the growth form of the species and its mode of vegetative propagation.
