We discuss for atmospheric gravity waves:transport of energy and momentum flux (MF) from the low to the upper atmosphere, distortions introduced in the measured (or apparent) atmosphericgravity wavelengths, under- or overestimation of real vertical wavelengthsduring the measurement process, consequences of these distortions for twoexperimental limb satellite setups. We here introduce a method with closesounding quartets, which allows the calculation for GW of the net MF, thepropagation direction, and real wavelengths.
