Resumen:
The Global Positioning System (GPS) Radio Occultation (RO) technique providesatmospherics profiles with global coverage, high vertical resolution in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS) and long-term stability.FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC mission has provided continuous observations since 2006 being a powerful tool for the detection of variabilities in climate signal.Over South America, a continuous wavelet transform is applied to deseasonalized temperature, specific humidity, and precipitable water. Temporal and spatial oscillation modes are analyzed. In particular, the influences of El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and longer oscillation modes are investigated. After removing ENSO and longer modes a standard and multiple linear regression is applied to time series for study trends in the different RO variables.
