Resumen:
On the basis of 16 years (1998-2013) TRMM 3B42 data (daily accumulated rainfall), the Amazon basin (AB) temporal and spatial rainfall variability is analyzed. Different behavior of precipitation over AB is found northern and southern of 8S when the longitudes band 70-50W is considered. The sample is then splited into North and South 8S, describing their monthly evolution along longitudes. The main spatial oscillation modes are isolated and analyzed through Continuous Wavelet Transform analysis. Intense spatial oscillations are found close at he West part of the studied region. Several temporal modes in different scales are detected in each sample, distinguishing larger scales than 12 months present in both of them, probably associated to ENSO phases, as well as smaller scale oscillations which are evaluated from daily data. The northern portion of AB shows more variability in daily data than the southern one and seems to be more affected by large temporal processes than the southern.
