POD reduced order model for control of wake flows

A methodology that has been proposed to develop control strategies in flows is applied to the incompressible flow downstream a circular cylinder at a Reynold´s number of 200 considering data performed by numerical simulation. The control action is given by a constant cylinder rotation. We obtain a reduced order model representing the non-linear dynamics of the equations that govern the problem by applying the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition technique. Also we consider minimizing a cost functional associated to the vortex shedding fluctuations
