Resumen:
The RIO+20 United Nation Conference on Sustainable Development recommended identify urgent actions to achieve the goal of a Land Degradation Neutral word (LDN). Taking this challenge, The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification defines Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) as ?a state whereby the amount and quality of land resources necessary to support ecosystem functions and services and enhance food security remain stable or increase within specified temporal and spatial scales and ecosystems? (UNCCD, 2012, p.8). Within the UNCCD this definition is intended to apply to affected areas as defined in the text of the Convention, with the objective of achieving a zero rate of land degradation by 2030.
