Resumen:
A series of new semicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones were synthesized from different aryl ketones.  Their structures were confirmed by RMN spectral data.  All compounds were tested for their in vitro anticancer properties against two cell lines CT26 (murine melamome) and B26 (murine colon cancer). The cytotoxic effects were investigated by means of tetrazolium salt assay (MTT). Apoptosis was detected by acridine orange / ethidium bromide (AO/EB). Semi- and thiosemicarbazones showed high activity compared to the corresponding ketones.  Flouroketones derivatives were the most actives.
