Resumen:
Treatments with water and diluted nitric acid were made to the support alumina, used to prepare
supported manganese oxides catalysts. The different supports and the resulting catalysts were
characterized by techniques as BET, pore volume distribution, XRD, TPD-NH3, FTIR, TPR, XFR,
XPS and Zeta Potential. As the treatments results, modifications of the support physicochemical
properties were observed. Catalytic performance was evaluated in ethanol combustion. The most
active catalyst were those prepared from the treated supports, using a manganese monolayer.
