Resumen:
Antiferromagnetic A2CoBO6 double perovskites are interestingoxides to produce more complex systems as spin valves and othersthat use exchange bias mechanism. The antiferromagneticA2CoWO6 (with A = Ca, Sr or Ba) family called our attention due totheir crystalline structure versatility: Ca2CoWO6 (monoclinic),Sr2CoWO6 (tetragonal) and Ba2CoWO6 (cubic). The crystalline structures affect mainly the Co-O distances and thelocal octahedral symmetry of the CoO6. We found that the effectivemagnetic moment (meff) of Co2+ is partially unquenched and wealso found that meff increases with the average of Co-O distances. Inthis contribution we describe a simple model that explain theexperimental behavior of the effective magnetic moment and itsrelation with the crystal field. More details in our work Ref.
