Resumen:
The proportion of rainfall entering the soil and its spatial redistribution across patches is a critical aspect of the Ecology and Hydrology of dry ecosystems. Although the important role of multiple patch attributes (at the canopy, surface and soil level) and their heterogeneity has been widely documented, their relative importance under different rainfall intensities remains uncertain. We quantify water capture (infiltrated water/rainfall input) and its response to spatial patch variability and temporal rainfall intensity variability in a forest stand of the Dry Chaco (Argentina).
