Resumen:
The best polynomial approximation operator was recently extended byone of the authors from $L^p$ to $L^{p-1}.$ In this paper we studyweak and strong inequalities for maximal operators related with theextended best polynomial approximation operator. As an applicationwe obtain norm convergence of the coefficients of the bestpolynomial approximation.
